What is best pen to have a baseball autpgraphed with?

Ok, baseball season is upon us once again. And this year i wanted to try to get some autographed baseballs from my trips to the different baseball fields i plan on going to.
Does anyone know what kinds of writing instruments are best to sign a baseball with and not have it smudge the signature.
Any past experiences and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

BIC pen – BLUE ink only

Do not use a Sharpie on baseballs – ink bleeds and also can get smudged too easily.

The regular BIC ballpoint blue pens are the best. Here is a picture:

I have received many autographs on baseballs, and this is definitely the pen that doesn’t smear and stays great!

The best way to find out is a ask a professional memorabilia collector but I find that ball point pens work the best on balls.

A blue pen. Sharpies bleed and blue pens last much longer.
