He sure was fun to watch. So fast and he hit bigger than he was. Cherry was right that he didnt play much defense but he could find the back of the net like no one else. Funny how back then they took 2 minute shifts. Shows how much things have changed. Hed be even better now if he was starting out. His speed would dominate even more with nobody hacking and hooking him.

if pavel is still with the canucks he would be on the same line as the sedins :)

I still consider him one of my all-time favourite Canucks player until the day I die. The way the team was during the 94 cup finals and used their skills with finesse. I’m still a Canucks girl no doubt, but the current line-up are nothing like Captain Canuck Linden and Bure.

    @barkleysound
they know before its announced and he probably didnt speak a lick of english, but it did have a sense of swagger to it.

i love how he just stands up for his calder before the guy actually called his name.

Tay-chuck!, you are a genuis Cherry

  10. misuihc says:

this guy gave up his knees for vancouver. he deserves more respect for his accomplishments in such a short period of time.

  11. barkleysound says:

and what car was he driving?

  12. barkleysound says:

when pure has the puck..every other players look like standing pylons

  13. mrfiggins says:

@kookykrumbs I don’t know…but that might be editing…I’d like to see the actual footage…at the same time if he had 35 goals and the next rook had 14, why not stand up early?

  14. Ghatzi91 says:

i think the best part of that video is how when they are awarding the calder, bure stands up before his name is called. My favorite hockey player of all time and always will be. Bure faithful.

I’d forgotten how good Pavel was… and McLean.

@chaucy9 Where’s the NHL? This isn’t the NHL I grew up with. I know things have changed and the game has evolved and that part is great, but the NHL is sports entertainment. Whether teams win and lose legitimately now is debatable.

  17. kookykrumbs says:

Did anyone notice Bure stood up at the NHL award before his name was even called out? Now that’s confidence!

  18. chaucy9 says:

Wheres his cup? wheres vancouvers cup?

  19. Rizz1988 says:

@KiRILL943 7-3 ? who won? huh? russia players are to selfish thats why they rack pts in the nhl, canada is good all around

  20. Nikos20 says:

what is that cheesy upbeat song at the very end of the documentary?

  21. MagnusWyvern says:

Russia vs. Canada would be a great final. Either team has enough skill to win but in such a short tournament it’ll be who has the right type of players, and which team comes together the fastest.

Takes more than goal scorers to win a championship.

  22. gio8284 says:

You need defense to win championships btw!!

  23. gio8284 says:

Russia aint winning shit!! I heard they still wipe their asses bare handed over there??

  24. GamingThisWeek says:

Haha Don Cherry hates goal scorers. He only likes grinders or D-men
